Englishmen are nice!... to animals

I probably exaggerated the heading but one could notice their indifference toward a busker. Even if you like the music you hear there's no reason to stop.. in most cases. That's what I saw. But when Bob came to James' life everybody tuned to him and couldn't stop making compliments to him. So the conclusion is if you're a person with life troubles you can overcome it somehow or just take care of yourself but if you're appeared to be a sweet ginger cat full of health you'll attract as many people as there will be passers by. They'll feed you and make some sweet things to your honor.
We can also see Londoners and their everyday life. They travel on metro or bus going to the same shops and bakeries reading a newspaper. The breakfasts author prepares and the goods he buys shows some food habbits. Their clothes are shown in details by J.Bowen. And when he speaks about his family we can see some aspects the prevate life of Englishmen in general.
I found it funny that the biggest tips friends got were from the American couple..
Their social helping system is also fine according to the book. There are some hospitals for poor people or animals as well as the oppotunities to get the job( having great intention and will). It seemed to me that if you have no money nobody would send you home.. hospital staff will make concession and you'll be allowed to pay tater or partially or even assist them a bit.
